When Louise, a former employee of an ABTA Member, had to leave her job due to a severe deterioration in her eyesight she was heartbroken. As a hard worker, being unable to work for four years left Louise extremely disappointed and frustrated.
Finally, Louise received some good news - her eyesight had finally stabilised enough for her to start thinking about returning to work. Louise then discovered the Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) Course, which would allow her to pursue a dream career she felt was perfect for her, while using her own experience to provide and enthusiastic and empathetic service to those who needed it.
But there was a catch - Louise had to be able to afford to pay for the course, and that's where ABTA LifeLine stepped in. We were able to pay the full cost of Louise's ECLO course and assisted with the accommodation required while she completed the course.
