Stephen* had been living and working in Tunisia for over 25 years with various UK tour operators including Thomas Cook.
After the tragic Sousse terror attack in June 2015 tourism came to a standstill and despite hopes of this picking up again, Stephen had no choice but to return to the UK.
He did so in March 2016 and despite having no home and no job he was determined to build a new life for himself back in the UK.
He managed to find a part time job in Tesco and put his name on the housing list.
Stephen found a one bed property but it was unfurnished and so he applied to ABTA LifeLine for help with the essentials.
ABTA LifeLine awarded Stephen essential household good to the value of £1,000.
"Thanks to ABTA LifeLine I now find myself settling down and have recovered my life."
